What if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.

Psalms‬ ‭89:5-8‬
The heavens praise your wonders, Lord, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings? In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him. Who is like you, Lord God Almighty? You, Lord, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.

Were you ever left at church or school or the grocery store as a kid? If so, do you remember the panic and fear of being alone and wondering why so-and-so left you and where they were?
There is a tangible fear and panic that can rule in those moments.

God is different from us humans. He is always faithful. He never forgets to find us or provide for us. He is somehow (amazingly!) able to keep track of all of his people all the time across this vast world. And not just “track us” like some computer systems track Santa at Christmas these days; he knows us intimately! I saw this intimacy one night when I felt like all hope of relational repair or love with my step-mom was lost. She entered into a marriage with my Dad one year after my Mom died of cancer. I was 16 years old. My brother and I were a bit unruly, having lived in a house where my Mom battled cancer for 5 years. I knew the example my Mom had set of unconditional love in Jesus. I had tried everything I could to connect with my step-mom, but nothing seemed to work. So I decided to camp out on the back lawn in my sleeping bag and I wrote God a letter. I cried out to him in this letter and told him everything I had tried to do and how it had not worked. I was sobbing and without hope for anything to change. At that moment I opened my eyes and right then a shooting star streaked across the sky. I knew in my heart it was God’s way of telling me that he was there and he understood me. He would be faithful and he loved me. He was the God who controlled the heavens … and he just showed up, and was going to continue to show up for me. Fast forward about 30 years later and God delivered on his promise. My Dad was passing away from a stroke and I was able to help my step-mom and encourage her. And at her house, after he had died, she testified to God’s work in her heart and told my oldest son of God’s faithfulness to her. God has now reconciled my relationship with my step-mom. She had her issues and I had mine. He healed both of us by his Spirit and brought us back together. And now my kids get to be loved on by their Grandma! Are you, or have been, in a relationship that seems difficult or almost impossible to live in or see a resolution to? We serve a God who is faithful even when we or others are not. HE IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL!

Take heart — he hears your prayers and he is working his plan to bring all people to himself. They must act in obedience to receive God’s great gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ. But he is always faithful! He will LIGHT UP THE SKIES (or do other amazing things) for you too if you trust him with your hurts and pains … if you lay out your heart to him in Jesus name!

Lord, thank you for your great faithfulness that transforms me. WOW! You really know how to encourage me and you are so, so faithful to save. Thank you Lord!
