Miracles Unspeakable and Beyond Compare‭‭ - Mark‬ ‭6‬:‭53‬-‭56‬

When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and anchored there. As soon as they got out of the boat, people recognized Jesus. They ran throughout that whole region and carried the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. And wherever he went—into villages, towns or countryside—they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.

The sheer spiritual power that came from Jesus at this time was almost unbelievable, if people did not see it with their own eyes. He healed all that came to him and were touched by him. Like the woman who had lifelong bleeding, when she touched just his cloak, she was healed as well.

Nothing had ever happened like this before and nothing has happened like this since Jesus. It was one way he demonstrated he was the Son of God.

I think one of the most compelling and attractive features to Jesus’ character was his ability to live what he preached. He used his power not for personal gain or wealth, the power God had granted him was used to do the work God had prepared for him to do. His life actions were in line with his beliefs. He backed up what he said by living it out.

As a result, people believed in him and saw the truth in his words. Not everyone right away. However, over time the truth he planted in their hearts started to produce good fruit.

As I look towards God’s plan for my life this year, I must believe that he has great plans for me. I must seek his heart and pursue righteousness hard. And I must allow his Spirit to have full leadership authority, full sway, in my heart. “So he said to me, ‘This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.’” (‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬)

When we operate in full surrender to the Spirit of God, we become full of the power of God to repair and restore health into a world full of broken people. This happens in God’s ways, in God’s time, and for his Glory alone.

Lord, thank you for your truth which sustains me. You are the Son of God and I am humbled to have you as my Lord and Savior. Take my heart and let it be fully devoted to you.
