Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
In the middle of trial or disaster, this passage is a good reminder of how to deal with it.
- Remember: I think about all the ways God has provided for me in the past. Everything from the sun to light up the day and the ocean with so much life to enjoy and feed us, to the ways he brings the right person at the right time to bless or encourage me.
- Hope: Let his past provision give you much hope. The bigger the trial the bigger the “Hallelujah”, We can see God’s plan for our good both through it and in the end — his deliverance.
- Compassion: Rest on the fact that we serve a compassionate God. He loves us and is always looking out for us. Sometimes, when he is testing us to build faith and closeness, he may seem distant or missing. But he never is. He is near. He lives among us.
- Be Patient: It is never a good idea to take the reins of our lives back from God. He is our hope, our life, and our strength. Every time I wait on his timing the outcome is astronomically better than if I just enact my plan.
- Trust in his Faithfulness: No question about it, God has a “100% of the time” faithfulness that you can take to the bank! Never doubt it! He will always come through.
It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord! The Lord is worth waiting for.

I love you and will remember your past provision to hope in a future where your faithfulness shines like the sun cresting over the mountain peak. You love me and in your perfect timing you orchestrate your goodness and your plan to save. Count me among those seeking after you and your ways!
