This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

News Flash: This is not just a physical world. There is also a spiritual world at work around us, though we may not always recognize it. And we have a couple of options in regard to engaging with the spirit realm: 1) Be led by God’ Spirit and make wise decisions, or 2) Wander aimlessly and be impacted by the Devil, his demons, and his lies.

There is an incredible reality that happens when we are submitted to God fully and the Spirit of God is in control of our heart motives and priorities, our actions and our thoughts: At times we speak, but it is not us speaking, but the Spirit of God speaking through us. And we make sound judgments in accordance with God’s righteous standard, because we love him and he impresses the truth and right living on our minds.

Here it says, “‘Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.” This is such an important statement, because it demonstrates the power and authority we have in Jesus Christ. We can think as he thought, we can judge as he judged, we can be merciful as he was merciful, and we can act in love as he acted in love.

Lord, thank you that you have given me your Spirit to live in my heart. I praise you for I am saved in Jesus. May your thoughts and your words come forth from my mind and mouth today!
