See that you do not despise or think less of one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven [are in the presence of and] continually look upon the face of My Father who is in heaven.

This is such an amazing passage in scripture. It helps us see the heart of God. He loves children. And he is assigning angels to watch over them.

I have had the opportunity to pray with parents who have lost a child in a late-term pregnancy. I have prayed for a child who had cancer and died of it. Many of us have. And my wife has had miscarriages early term.

I find this passage to be of high encouragement to those who are struggling with the death of a child.

God does not make mistakes. He has a plan for each life. And he loves children at an entirely different level than all other humans. He has the heart of a Father.

Lord, thank you for this wonderful verse which gives us confidence with how you love and treat children. You hurt when they hurt, you cry when they are in pain.
